About

One of Taiwan’s top fourth leading universities, National Central University (NCU) is Taiwan´s leading school and has been one of the major research-oriented universities since 2001. It is a first-rate university with solid international qualifications. It has gained an international reputation for research and academic excellence. According to the latest 2020-2021 Best Global Universities Rankings announced by the U.S. News & World Report, NCU ranked fourth place among the universities in Taiwan. Notably, in terms of the indicator “international collaboration,” it is the sixth year in succession that NCU has stayed the top one among universities in Taiwan.

NCU is located in Zhongli, Taoyuan, Taiwan and it has become a home to more than 12,000 students. Currently, NCU has 8 colleges, 26 departments, 19 graduate institutes, 6 university-level research centers, and one united research center, the Office of Teaching Centers (OTC), and the affiliated Zhongli Senior High School. 

Our programs cover a wide breadth of academic fields across science, engineering, information technology, health science and technology, earth science, remote sensing, management, and the humanities. Besides the degree program, our Language Center also provides semi-intensive Chinese courses quarterly. NCU is truly a comprehensive university of rich scientific and humanistic facilities.

Fees

  • Tuition Fee for Undergraduate: NT$45,691- NT$52,668 (USD1,523-USD1,756) per semester (six months)
  • Tuition Fee & Credit Fee for Graduate: NT$22,200-NT$26,620 (USD740-USD888) per semester & NT$ 3,140 (US$ 105) per credit
  • NCU Student Dormitory Fee (2-4 persons shared room): NT$ 15,660-NT$31,920 (USD522- USD1,064) per year
  • Off-campus Housing Fee (varies with size, type, location...etc.): NT$ 3,000-NT$8,100 (USD100-USD270) per month
  • Living Expense (varies with the person): NT$9,000- NT$12,000 (USD 300- USD 400) per month

Scholarships

NCU provides full-scale scholarships for international students to study at our university, including a monthly stipend and tuition & credit fee waiver. The value of the scholarship is decided by the Scholarship Committee according to the applicants’ academic performance. On average, NCU Master Student will receive NT$6,000-NT$10,000 (USD 200 to USD 333) per month and Ph.D. students will receive NT$10,000-NT$15,000 (USD 333 to USD 500) per month and tuition & credit fee waiver; however, it differs from department/institute.
