About

National United University (NUU), its predecessor Lien-Ho Technology College (LTC), was founded in 1972 in Miaoli City, Taiwan. Through stages of reforms and upgrades, LTC developed to be NUU—a public comprehensive teaching- and research-oriented university. There are more than 70,000 alumni of NUU since 1974, most of them are elites and hardcores in Taiwan's industry, engineering, and commerce. NUU keeps promoting in academic research, professional education, and industry-academia cooperation and ranks in the top 9% out of 19,788 universities worldwide according to the 2021–22 edition of the “Global 2000 List by the Center for World University Rankings.”

NUU has two campuses, Erpingshan and Bajia campus, 2.6 km in distance and 77 hectares in area. The university provides free shuttle buses for all of the staff and students to transmit between two campuses. Furthermore, NUU is adjacent to Hsinchu Science Park (Taiwan Silicon Valley) and Taichung City (the biggest city in central Taiwan), which benefits high-tech research and gratifies living demands. Also, NUU has transportation advantages in the highway (10–15 minutes away from the National Freeway No. 1 and 3 Interchanges), railway (10 minutes to Miaoli Station), and High-Speed Rail (15–20 minutes to Miaoli Station).

NUU has signed MoU with more than 150 sister schools all over the world to offer academic and cultural exchanges; therefore, qualified students go abroad to the United States, Japan, France, and other regions for semester exchange and overseas internship each year. Moreover, there are many student clubs with rich attributes such as academics, entertainment, and sports, bringing you a colorful and diverse university life.
